Age spots, broken capillaries, fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, enlarged pores, uneven skin tone … if you suffer from any of these imperfections, don’t despair. An IPL photo facial is a state-of-the-art skin care technology that is specifically designed to tackle these seemingly insurmountable skin conditions in a safe, quick, and effective manner.
What is a Photo Facial?
Using a hand-held device intense pulses of non-laser light is delivered through the surface of the skin (the epidermis) to deeper levels (the dermis) in order to target damaged tissue and encourage collagen production. As damaged tissue is repaired and new collagen produced, your skin softens and your complexion evens out. The result is a more youthful, radiant appearance and smoother skin texture.
Best of all, a photo facial will not damage the surface of the skin, which means the skin doesn’t need time to recover. The level of light energy applied is based on the skin condition being treated. Clients have compared the sensation of the skin being pulsed with intense light with that of the snap of a rubber band on the surface of the skin. While this intense pulsed light or IPL skin therapy is virtually pain-free. Once the treatment has been completed, any pain will quickly diminish.
What do I need to know before my Photo Facial treatment?
Photo Facial cannot be performed on skin that is tan or burned from sun exposure. Self-tanner should not be used 2 weeks prior to your Photo Facial treatment. Discontinue the use of any topical prescription medications 7 days before treatment. For example, Retin-A, Trilumen, Differin, etc.
How many treatments will I need?
Dramatic results can be achieved in 1-3 treatments. Very large or dark spots, heavily freckled areas, or excessively sun damaged skin may require more treatments.
What should I expect after a Photo Facial Treatment?
At first the spots may darken and the surrounding skin might be a little red which should subside in a couple hours post treatment. The darkened spots will fade and flake off 1 to 3 weeks after treatment, giving way to a clearer complexion.
When will I see the results?
The majority of patients will see a significant improvement 2-3 weeks following treatment as their complexion will look clearer and younger. The final result may take up to a month.
